Tonight I prepared a kidney and fillet of beef
pie. I modified Antony Worrall Thompson's stake and kidney pie -recipe slightly by using pork kidneys, home-made meat stock, shallots and some end bits of fillets of beef.
The pie smelled
heavenly, but tasted even better. Our bairns liked it too, especially because they wanted to have some dessert too!
I also prepared some refreshing
fennel-carrot-spring onion salad.
For dessert, our
youngest son asked me to prepare an apple pie with some raisins and walnuts in it.
It was very crispy on top, but moist inside, since I added 1/2 cup of Crème fraîche and egg mixture.
