The gravlax salmon — The tastiest and the most aromatic gravlax our family has ever had

The "gravlax" salmon has been marinated for two days now, so I sliced it and served it with whole grain oats bread. This special recipe for the marinate salmon came from my friend Georges Lahdo. The tastiest and the most aromatic gravlax our family has ever had. Highly recommend!

You need a fresh, skillfully filled and deboned salmon.

Stuff you need for the marinate

  • 2-4 gloves & 2 pods of cardamom (grind only the seeds!)
  • 1/3 grapefruit
  • 1 lime juice
  • 2-3 cm piece ginger (grated)
  • zest of a lime
  • coarse sea salt "in abbondanza" (i.e. really a lot of salt).
Method: Combine the above ingredients. Pour the marinate over the the fillet of salmon. Wrap carefully with baking paper and then seal with tin foil. Refrigerate for 2 days, and then enjoy!
