Raising Funds for School Camp: A Community Effort with Big Results
One of the highlights for our students was the incredible opportunity to attend a memorable school camp at Hyvärilä, thanks to the successful fundraising efforts during our ISV Pop-Up Restaurant Days (with Italian theme in 2018, and Indian theme in 2024) and Halloween Haunted House & Bake Sale in 2019. This was not just a financial victory but also a significant learning experience for everyone involved.
ISV students, parents, and homeroom teachers came together to organize these events, allowing students to develop important life skills such as teamwork, responsibility, and leadership. It was also a fantastic networking opportunity, with former ISV staff and alumni stopping by to say hello and enjoy lunch, reinforcing the strong sense of community within our school.
What we didn’t expect was a positive problem: we raised more money than we had anticipated! With the funds, the students enjoyed a 4-day adventure at Hyvärilä, went sailing on old ships, and still had enough left over for a day at an action park and other fun activities. Plus, we were able to purchase end-of-year gifts for our beloved teachers. These experiences created lasting memories for the students and strengthened the bond within our school community.
