A proper lasagna has always three pasta layers — Lasagna a tre strati

Out of all my dishes, this must be the one I cook more often than any other. Today I made three lasagne. A proper lasagna has always three pasta layers (tre strati).

One for dinner, and the two small ones I put in the freezer as our teenagers like to eat pasta before squash training.

For lasagna you need béchamel sauce, ground beef and tomato sauce, mozzarella and parmigiana. There are endless number of lasagna recipes that can be found online, so it is pointless that I would repeat in this blog post.

When it comes to recipes, I might look at them for an inspiration, but rarely I follow them. My advice to all home cooks is to come up with your own family favorites and stick to those.
